Links to Support

There is a network of NGO's across the country that assists those who have experienced sexual violence and abuse. The following list includes organizations offering counselling, therapeutic services, and court preparation. (If your organization assisting survivors of sexual violence or child sex abuse is not listed below and you would like to have your link included, please contact us)

Reporting of child sex abuse should be to a police official, or to a clerk of the children’s court, or to Childline or Child Welfare. Childline can be called toll free:

Childline Crisis Line 0800 055555

Local Departments offices of Social Development qualify but provide a poor service generally. The SAPS also provide a very variable service across the country.

The following lists the national support organisations categorized by province for your convenience, simply click on the province heading, and you will be directed to the relevant section. In addition to local support, telephonic support, is also provided nationwide. Reports, for example,  can be made to Childline - who do follow up to ensure that the child is assisted and also generally know which referral point is applicable in a given geographical area.
